Portuguese Society of Psychoanalysis is organizing an annual meeting that will be held on March 15 and 16 2019, in Lisbon, under the title «(In)Finite Space: Psychoanalysis and intersection of places».
(In)Finite space, a dimension that evokes the infinitude of human creativity, an intermediate area between fantasy and reality, in which the human being is constructed and builds spaces: spaces of dialogue, with him and with the other, with other “spaces” where he lives.
Bringing this theme to the organization of a Meeting, we hope to create an opportunity – a “time-space in a liquid modernity” (Bauman, 2001) – to discuss the specific contribution of the psychoanalytic thought, as well as other areas related to culture, science and art, in the understanding of contemporary society and its vicissitudes.
Associating and articulating meanings, we will try to generate a reflective space of dialogue in order to enrich our understanding of subjective and intersubjective relations between different disciplines.
We hope to discuss topics such as: the globalization of information and communication as well as its influence on the construction of psychic space; mental space and its interconnection with the artificial intelligence and emotions; virtual space in the interaction with concepts of own space, corporality and identity; the place of the psychoanalytic setting as an intersubjective field, potential space of transformation and dream.
In the creative experience, we will listen and think, from the psychoanalytic and architectural point of view, what physical space, urban-space, as a place of singular and collective experiences and revivals, has to tell us.
We also want to ask ourselves about key issues in contemporary society, such as the migrants, immigrants and refugees phenomenon.
Please come and give your important contribution to make the XXIX Anual meeting a successful conference.
See you in Lisbon!
